Some types of repair or maintenance are considered emergencies or urgent, including pest control.
Request an emergency or urgent repair
If you suspect a gas leak, call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately.

Select 'option 1' (gas servicing or to report a repair)
Then choose one of the following telephone options to report your repair:
- select 'option 1' – gas, heating or hot water supply problems for a home with an individual boiler
- select 'option 2' – heating or hot water water supply problems for a home with a communal boiler
- select 'option 3' – all other types of repair problems

Emergency repairs
Your repair will be considered an emergency, if there's:
- an immediate danger to life
- major and/or structural damage
- uncontainable leaks (including roof) or flooding
- no power to property
- no water to property
- exposed electrical wires
- unsecure external doors and/or windows
- a tenant is locked out – sheltered or extra care only
- a problem with the only form of bathing – sheltered or extra care only
- a toilet blocked or broken – sheltered or extra care only
- an individual job is requested by a housing assets manager
- an attendance request is given by the emergency services
Urgent repairs
Your repair will be considered as urgent, if there's:
- health and safety risks
- no heating and/or hot water
- a problem with the only form of bathing
- blocked or upsurging drains
- a tenant is locked out
- broken glazing which needs boarding up
- communal lighting repairs
- a toilet blocked or broken – in a wet room or the only toilet in the property
- collapsed ceilings and floors
- replacement light bulbs are needed – sheltered or extra care only
- a beeping smoke, heat or carbon monoxide detectors – sheltered or extra care only
- mutual exchange gas and electric tests
- an individual job is requested by a housing assets manager
Pest control
Pest problems which are considered an emergency or urgent, include:
- wasp and hornet nests – internal and external
- mice and rat infestations to blocks and block communal areas
- Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) caterpillars
- bedbugs in a flat – a maximum of 2 treatments per property, where there is a possible infestation to a block
- ant nests in blocks and block communal areas
- squirrel infestations in blocks and block communal roof spaces
- an individual job is requested by a housing assets manager with Housing Assets
