Freedom of information and environmental information requests

Requests for a review of the way we have dealt with a  request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations 2014 will be considered by the data protection officer or his/her nominee or another member of the corporate leadership team.

The review will consist of a thorough re-examination of the original decision and how you request for information was handled.

We aim to complete the review within 20 working days. If this is not possible, we will advise you when you can expect to receive a response. This will not be longer than 40 working days from the date that we received your request for a review.

The decision on the review will be final and it is not subject to a right of appeal within the council. If you request a review of the way in which we have dealt with a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations 2014 also includes a complaint, that complaint will be considered by the data protection officer or his/her nominee or another member of the corporate leadership team as part of the review.

You may also ask the information commissioner to consider whether we have dealt with your request for information properly. The information commissioner will not normally become involved until we have completed our review.
