Extreme heat and health alerts
Both the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have extended the red alerts for Surrey and the south east until 11pm on Friday 26 June.
How we contact residents on the electoral register to check their details are up to date.
Each year, we contact you between August and November.
If you have previously supplied us with an email address, we will contact you by email.
For properties where we do not have email addresses, we will send a paper form through the post.
We use an official email account with these details:
If you're contacted, we urge you to check your electoral details online by following the instructions provided.
By confirming or updating your records, you’re ensuring that you remain eligible to vote in future elections.
If you have not responded to the annual canvass form, you will receive a text message.
The text message will say 'WBCElections: We have sent you a canvass form in the post. Please respond now to avoid a canvasser calling at your address. Act now, http://www.householdresponse.com/woking'
Text messages are provided by the Government Digital Service, and you can find more information about how they work – GOV.UK.
For 4 weeks from Thursday 23 October 2025, you may be visited at home by a trained canvasser. This is because you have not responded to previous emails, letters or texts.
If you are not at home when a canvasser visits, they will leave a 'calling card' which will let you know:
All our canvassers wear photo ID and are not allowed to enter your property.
If you have any difficulty completing the canvass online, have a query, or need more information, please contact us.
