Register for council housing
What the housing register is, who can apply, how to apply, appeal a decision, how housing is allocated.
Who is eligible for council housing
You can apply to join the housing register if you:
- are aged 16 years and above
- have an identified housing need
- have lived or worked full-time in the borough continuously for the last 2 years
Members of the armed forces do not need to have a connection to the borough.
Who cannot apply
You will not be accepted if you:
- own property
- are subject to immigration control
- do not live full-time in the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey
- have been found guilty of serious anti-social behaviour and a possession order has been granted (or one is being requested)
- have assaulted a staff member of Woking Borough Council and an injunction has been granted (or one is being requested)
- have knowingly given false or misleading information, including withholding information
