About postal votes

Any person on the electoral register can apply for a postal vote. The deadline for applications to be received by the elections office is 5pm, 11 working days before an election.

When you apply for a postal vote, you will be asked to provide your date of birth and your signature. These will be scanned, saved in confidence on the register and checked against your completed postal vote to ensure that you have submitted the vote, not someone else on your behalf.
