Amendment to Hackney Carriage Fares in the Borough of Woking

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 - Section 65

Woking Borough Council is responsible for setting the maximum level of fares charged by hackney carriages in Woking. The fare calculator approved by The Executive in October 2022 resulting in a new table of fares as set out below has been produced and approved by the Licensing Authority for publication. 

A copy of this notice and the proposed table of fares will be available for inspection without payment from the 1 December 2022, at the address shown below between 9am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday. 

Any objections to this variation of the table of fares should be made in writing to the undersigned no later than 5pm on 14 December 2022. Where no objections are received or have been received but withdrawn, the proposed tariff shall take effect 15 December 2022.

If objections are received and not withdrawn the Portfolio Holder for Taxi and Private Hire shall consider the objections and approve the table of fares with or without modification to come into force on 12 January 2023.

  • All luggage carried inside or outside the passenger compartment is free of charge.
  • Any assistance dog carried is free of charge.

Important

If the journey takes the taxi outside the Woking Borough area, the driver MUST still charge in accordance with the above scale unless he/she has agreed otherwise with the hirer before the journey has started. These are the maximum fares chargeable.
