This Stage 2 consultation runs from Tuesday 6 January to Saturday 28 February 2026 and forms part of the Pyrford Community Governance Review.

Following strong support during the initial consultation in October 2025, where 68% of respondents were in favour of a parish council being created, Council agreed to move forward with draft recommendations.

Under the recommendations, a parish council would be created with 10 elected councillors and feature no separate wards.

Cllr Ann-Marie Barker, Leader of Woking Borough Council, said:

This is an important opportunity for residents to help shape the practical details of any new parish council for the Pyrford Neighbourhood Area. I encourage everyone with an interest in Pyrford to take part and make their voice heard.

All feedback will help shape the final decision, which will be presented to Council later in 2026. If approved, the first election could take place in May 2027, with elections held every four years thereafter.

The seven-week consultation, which launched today (Tuesday 6 January), is open until Saturday 28 February.

Take part and have your say on the key recommendations.
