Woking proudly flies Armed Forces Day flag

Date:

Friday, 27 June, 2025

A flag is flying proudly above the Civic Offices in Gloucester Square this weekend to mark Armed Forces Day (Saturday 28 June 2025).

The council has joined hundreds of other local authorities across the UK in raising the unique Armed Forces Day flag, based on the Union Jack, in support of the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.

Cllr Amanda Boote, Mayor of Woking, said: “Flying the Armed Forces Day flag is a heartfelt way for us to honour the courage, dedication and sacrifice of our brave military personnel, past and present. It’s a small but important symbol of our community’s respect and gratitude for all they do to protect our country and uphold peace around the world.”

The flag will fly above the Civic Offices until Monday 30 June.
