Speakers required for TEDxWoking 2019

Woking Works is delighted to announce that the global phenomenon TEDx is returning to Woking's WWF-UK Living Planet Centre on Friday 6 December, under the theme of 'Collaboration’, and potential speakers for this exciting event are now invited to put themselves forward for consideration.

TED talks give charismatic speakers the opportunity to expose new ideas in the fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design to a broad, international audience. A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community.

This is the fifth year that Woking will have hosted TEDx, which continues to inform, engage and enlighten its audience long after the event, as all talks are filmed and will be available online in early 2020.

This year, TEDxWoking will again be working with award-winning local IT support and managed services company - ramsac - to bring together another morning of engaging speakers and TED videos.

As part of this sponsorship, Rob May - ramsac's MD and an experienced international presenter himself - will be leading the audition process, which takes place in early July.

Anyone interested in submitting a summary of their proposed TEDx Talk may like to take a look at Rob’s ‘advice for giving a TEDx Talk’ on the Woking Works website. Rob's own TEDxWoking 2017 Talk has received almost 155,000 online views to date, and he will be offering free advice to confirmed speakers.

So if you are a local person with an 'idea worth spreading', and able to speak or perform for up to 18 minutes without notes on the topic of 'Collaboration’, please see the Woking Works website for full details of the speaker criteria and selection process. Entries close at 5pm on Monday 10 June.

Tickets for this stimulating and popular morning are already on sale. Speakers will be confirmed in mid June. For more information on how to apply as a speaker, and to buy tickets, please see tedxwoking.com
