Infrastructure improvements on Chertsey Road and Church Street East

Date:

Friday, 5 June, 2020

To support the delivery of low carbon, sustainable energy supplies across Woking Town Centre, engineering works will be undertaken on Chertsey Road and Church Street East for a period of ten weeks from Monday 8 June 2020.

During the works, Thameswey contractors, working on behalf of Woking Borough Council, will be installing district heating pipes underneath the carriageway, providing the essential infrastructure required to deliver Woking’s low carbon future.

From Monday 8 June 2020 until Friday 14 August 2020:

  • Alternating four-way traffic lights will be in place on the Chertsey Road/ Stanley Road Roundabout.
  • Some on-street parking bays along Church Street East will be suspended.

To minimise impact on residents and businesses, work will be carried out in sections. Pedestrian and vehicle access for residents and businesses will remain throughout the works and disruption to access for deliveries to local businesses will be minimised at all times.

Woking Borough Council would like to thank local businesses, road users and residents for their patience during this time.
