Give a gift to the planet and remember to recycle your Christmas tree

Date:

Tuesday, 4 January, 2022

There are a number of ways you can recycle your Christmas tree.

Trees can be taken to the Martyrs Lane community recycling centre or to a local garden centre that offers a recycling option. Please check with the garden centre before making your trip.

In addition to Martyrs Lane community recycling centre you can drop off your tree at one of the four locations shown below between Wednesday 5 and Sunday 16 January 2022. Signage will be in place at each location.

  • Woking Park Car Park, Kingfield Road GU22 9BA
  • Brookwood Country Park Car Park, Redding Way, Knaphill GU21 2AY
  • Sheerwater Recreation Ground Car Park, Blackmore Crescent, Sheerwater GU21 5NZ
  • Pyrford Recreation Ground Car Park, Pyrford Common Road, Pyrford

Please note, we can only accept real Christmas trees. Please ensure all decorations and lights are removed from the tree prior to drop-off.

Finally, if you are a garden waste customer then your tree can be chopped down to fit into your garden waste bin for collection. The next scheduled collection cycle in Woking is due to take place towards the end of February 2022 and will be publicised shortly.
