Annual Canvass update: emails to residents

Thursday, 16 September, 2021

From Friday 17 September 2021, Woking Borough Council will be contacting residents registered on the electoral register who have previously supplied their email address to us.

This activity forms part of our ‘annual canvass’ which is conducted each year to ensure that the electoral register is up-to-date and to identify any residents who are not yet registered to vote.

All emails will be sent from us and be entitled: ‘Woking Borough Council – Important communication about voter registration’. To confirm the authenticity of these emails, we have published a sample version of this email.

If you are contacted, we urge you to check your electoral details online by following the instructions provided. By confirming or updating your records, you’re ensuring that you remain eligible to vote in the forthcoming election in May 2022.

If other members of your household are not registered to vote, they can do so online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

If you experience any difficulties online, have a query, or need further information, please contact Electoral Services by email elections@woking.gov.uk or call 01483 755 855.
