Sheerwater Regeneration Project
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The council is undertaking a strategic review of the Sheerwater Regeneration Project. Whilst the council's challenging financial situation is a key driver, a mid-project review was always planned to look at how we can continue to deliver the project's outcomes as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
With five project phases either complete or underway, we remain committed to transforming Sheerwater and delivering much needed homes so for now, work on the red, yellow and copper phases continues as planned. We won’t however commit to any new phases until the findings of the review have been considered by elected members in July.
Any significant departure from our agreed regeneration plans is likely to require consent from the council's Planning Committee and be subject to rigorous scrutiny to ensure local needs are met.
We have set out to transform the centre of Sheerwater into an attractive, sustainable garden suburb and we remain committed to this vision.
