Private Landlords and letting agents are legally responsible for providing safe and healthy living conditions for their tenants.
Our Housing Standards team:
- provides advice to private landlords, letting agents and tenants
- licenses private rented properties which require a licence
- inspects private rented properties
- takes enforcement action against private landlords or letting agents which are not meeting our housing standards
- investigates and enforces breaches and offences under the Renters' Rights Act
