Extreme heat and health alerts
Both the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have extended the red alerts for Surrey and the south east until 11pm on Friday 26 June.
Report flooding caused by a watercourse (river, stream, ditch and canal), heavy rainfall, burst waterpipe, blocked drain or sewer.
For life threatening emergencies, call 999 to contact the emergency services.
No single organisation is responsible for managing flooding in the UK.
Responsibilities are shared by different organisations across the country and within Surrey. This guide provides an overview of who is responsible for what.
If you are a council housing tenant with a flooding or drainage issue, go to repairs and maintenance for council housing.
If you are the owner of private property with a flooding or drainage issue, you are responsible for maintaining drainage structures on your property.
If you own private land with a watercourse running through, under, or on the boundary of your land, you are responsible for any issues.
For more information about your responsibilities, go to owning a watercourse – GOV.UK.
You can email us if you do not know who is responsible for the flooding or drainage issue you wish to report.
Please give as much detail as possible, including the location – use the What3Words website or app if you can do so.
