Report a main river flood

The Environment Agency (EA) is responsible for managing the flood risks from main rivers, including regular inspection and maintenance of flood defences.

Call the Environment Agency's 24-hour hotline to report:

  • collapsed or badly damaged river banks
  • flooding from main rivers
  • main rivers blocked by a vehicle or fallen tree causing risk of flooding
  • unusual changes in river flow
  • concerns or incidents at a reservoir or dam which may cause a failure or flood
