Enforcement costs for private rented homes

You will be charged for any actions we take including:

  • serving informal hazard awareness notices
  • serving formal improvement and prohibition notices
  • specific action to deal with urgent hazards

Interest payable on debts resulting from works we have carried out. Bank of England base rate plus 2%

If you do not pay the enforcement action fees

The costs for repairs undertaken by us will vary depending on the work needed. 

The cost for works will be based on: 

  • an hourly rate
  • the cost of materials for the work

In addition to the works cost, we will also add a 20% administration cost.
