If you're unhappy with our FOI response
If you’re unhappy with our response to your request for information, you can request an Internal Review.
Before requesting an Internal Review, we encourage you to contact us for an informal discussion about your concerns with a view to finding a possible resolution.
Internal Review
Internal reviews are undertaken by a senior officer who has not been involved in the original response. They will look at the handling of your request and the information that has either been disclosed or withheld in accordance with defined exemptions of the act.
How to request an Internal Review
Requests for an Internal Review must be submitted in writing within 2 months of our response to your original request for information.
Your request must:
- set out why you're unhappy with our response
- include your full name and correspondence address

We will let you know that we've received your complaint in writing and start the internal review. We aim to complete internal reviews within 20 working days.
If you’re unhappy with our Internal Review
Following the outcome of the Internal Review, if you remain unhappy with our response you can request that the Information Commissioner's Office to review it.
The Information Commissioner (ICO)
The Information Commissioner's Office is an independent body that enforces the Freedom of Information Act, the Data Protection Act and the Environmental Information Regulations.
If you wish to take your complaint to the Information Commissioner, you should do so no later than 2 months after we given you our decision.
The ICO will not make a decision unless you have exhausted the Internal Review procedure provided by us.
