Policy and fees
We are responsible for allocating street names and numbers to properties and new developments in Woking.

New property developments fees
The registration fees for new developments, infills and conversions are:
- flat rate for 1 plot: £440
- for an additional plot (2 to 5 plots): £90 per plot
- for an additional plot (6 to 10 plots): £75 per plot
- for an additional plot (11 plots or more): £50 per plot
- site visit for 5 more plots: £72
For example, if a development has 25 new plots.
The charges would be:
- £440 flat rate for 1 plot
- plus £360 (4 multiplied by £90)
- plus £375 (5 multiplied by £75)
- plus £750 (15 multiplied by £50)
- £72 for a site visit
Amounting to a total fee of £1,997.
New property name or property name change fee
The fee to name or rename a property is £150.
New streets and properties fees
The fee for a new street is £612.
Other fees, if applicable
Other fees you may need to pay are:
- street name change: £795
- fee per plot within the renamed street: £95
- amendments after confirmation and changes to build: £60 (fee per plot, includes renumbering and renaming a building)
- confirmation of addressing: £62 (fee per letter, per application)
- duplication letter or address schedule: £62 (fee per schedule copy)

Split or merge commercial property fees
The fees to split or merge a commercial building, such as an office block, are:
- 1 to 5 units: £90 per unit
- 6 to 10 units: £75 per unit
- 11 units or more: £50 per unit
Retrospective engagement fee
The fee for retrospective engagement is £180, which is in addition to other addressing fees.
This fee is required if the project is substantially underway or it has been approved by building control.
How to apply and pay
Before payment, you must apply for either:
- apply for a property name
- register up to 4 new addresses
- register 5 or more new addresses
- rename or renumber a street
- split or merge a commercial property
We will then confirm the right fee with you.
Once you receive approval for the request you can then pay online.
