Developer contributions
Developer contributions refers to how we collect money from developers through the planning application process. We do this mainly through:
- the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
- planning obligations, commonly referred to as ‘Section 106’ or ‘S106’ obligations after Section 106 of the Planning Act
Developer contributions allow us to secure both financial and non-financial contributions (including affordable housing), or other works.
With these contributions we can provide infrastructure to support development and address the impact of development.
