Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
We use the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) as our main way of securing developer contributions towards infrastructure projects in Woking.
If an area has an adopted Neighbourhood Plan, 25% of CIL receipts from development in that area is ring fenced for local infrastructure projects. For areas that do not have a Neighbourhood Plan, the amount is 15%.
As an unparished borough, we retain the CIL levy receipts and assess applications for local community infrastructure projects against criteria set out in The Community Infrastructure Levy Regulations 2010
