Anyone wanting to vote by post must submit their application by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.

Apply online now.

Proxy vote

For residents who are unable to attend their polling station in person, proxy voting is also available, which allows a voter to appoint someone they trust to vote on their behalf. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April.

Proxy voting can be useful for people who will be away on polling day, have work or caring commitments or are unable to attend the polling station due to illness or disability.

Apply online now.

When applying for a postal and proxy vote, applicants must be registered to vote and provide the required information by the deadline.

Adesuwa Omoregie, Deputy Returning Officer for the West Surrey Council elections, said:

If you are unable to vote in person, you may be eligible to vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.

It’s important to act now to avoid missing the opportunity to vote in the West Surrey Council elections on Thursday 7 May.

Residents are also reminded that if they are voting in person, they will need to bring an accepted form of photo ID to the polling station.
