An annual client survey has revealed outstanding results for Woking Borough Council’s Careline service, highlighting exceptional performance and high levels of satisfaction, trust and confidence among service users.

Careline is a personal alarm service that allows the user to call for help at the touch of a button, 24-hours a day, helping residents live safely and independently at home.

The alarm button can be worn discreetly around the neck or wrist and links to a digital alarm unit installed at home.

The system can also support a range of other sensors, including fire, heat and motion, which alerts staff at a telecare centre if there is a problem.

The survey, which gathered feedback from 510 users, revealed that over 90% of respondents are satisfied with the overall service.

Confidence in frontline support is also strong, with nearly 88% satisfied with the monitoring centre and almost 90% with Careline Officers.

The service also has a significant impact on enabling independent living with 94% of respondents stating Careline’s alarms and safety aids help them feel safer in their own home.

An outstanding 100% of users rated the response as good, reflecting consistent and reliable support when it matters most. The service has also maintained a perfect track record for quality, with no complaints reported in the past 12 months.

Many residents fed back the real-life value of the service describing Careline as reassuring and essential. One resident shared their relief in knowing help is always available if needed, while another said they “would recommend it to anyone living alone”.

Families also noted the peace of mind the service provides, especially when supporting loved ones with additional needs such as dementia.

Cllr Steve Greentree, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Independent Living, said:

These results demonstrate the incredible value Careline provides to our residents whether they directly use the service or have loved ones who do.

It’s clear the service is not only trusted but plays a vital role in helping people feel safe, supported and independent in their own homes. I’m proud of the dedicated teams who are committed to delivering reliable, responsive and compassionate support 24-hours a day.
