Woking town centre car park upgrade works continue

Date:

Friday, 5 August, 2022

The transformation of Woking continues, as works to upgrade two further town centre car parks will commence later this month, revolutionising the parking experience for shoppers, commuters and visitors to Woking.

From Monday 8 August, new technology will be retrofitted to both the Victoria Place Blue and Yellow car parks.

Drivers will no longer need to collect a ticket upon arrival. Instead, cameras will read each number plate on entry. Once payment has been made, exit barriers will lift automatically to allow vehicles to leave. Drivers will simply need to remember their vehicle registration number.

Meanwhile, new payment machines will provide flexible ways to pay, making the process easier and more convenient. The technology will also allow customers to use fully contactless payment via the JustPark app.

During the installation works, there will be minor disruption and short-term closures of individual car parks, which will be kept to a minimum. Signage will be in place directing vehicles to alternative parking during this period.

Thank you for your patience during these works.

Parking to get cheaper at Victoria Place

From September, for a limited period, visitors will be able to park for up to three hours for just £3 in any of the Victoria Place car parks. There is also a reduced rate when parking for between four and five hours.
