Essential maintenance works for Woking train station subway
Essential maintenance works to the main pedestrian subway beneath Woking train station will take place overnight on Wednesday 8 July and Thursday 9 July 2026.
The works will involve replacing sections of the stair tread plates, which have become loose and cracked, to ensure the subway remains safe and accessible for users.
To allow the works to be carried out safely, the subway will be closed during the following times:
- Wednesday 8 July, 8pm to Thursday 9 July, 6am
- Thursday 9 July, 8pm to Friday 10 July, 6am
Advance warning signage will be displayed ahead of the works, with additional signage in place during the closures to help direct pedestrians along the diversion route.
The works are being delivered by Woking Borough Council in partnership with South Western Railway and Network Rail.
