You must have proof of public liability insurance that is valid for all your classes and provides cover of no less than £5 million.

Fitness instructors will also be asked for the following:

  • proof of fitness instructor qualification
  • proof of first aid qualification
  • a risk assessment for the proposed site
  • an example of a blank Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) that is given to clients to fill in

Fees for open space hire for fitness classes

These fees are valid from 1 April 2025:

  • one session a week: £38 per month
  • two sessions a week: £76 per month
  • three or more sessions a week: £114 per month
