Each year we contact people on the electoral register to check their details are up to date.

How we contact you during the annual canvass

Each year, we contact you between August and November.

We have started contacting residents registered on the electoral register who have previously supplied their email address to us.

For properties where we do have email addresses, we will send a paper forms through the post.

Canvass email

We use an official email account with these details:

  • subject line will be: 'Annual Canvass 2025 – Confirm your Household details NOW'
  • the email address will be from a government address: 'elections.woking.borough.council@notifications.service.gov.uk'

If you're contacted, we urge you to check your electoral details online by following the instructions provided. 

By confirming or updating your records, you’re ensuring that you remain eligible to vote in the forthcoming election in May 2026.
