Start button component
Use a start button for the main call to action on your service’s start page.
You must only have one start button on a single page.
How it works
Write button text in sentence case, describing the action it performs. For example:
- ‘Start now’ at the start of your service
- ‘Sign in’ to an account a user has already created
- ‘Pay’ to make a payment
When to use this component
You must use this component if you are linking to an in-house form built on:
- my.woking.gov.uk
- selfservice.woking.gov.uk
When not to use this component
You should not use this component:
- to link to third party websites
- as a way of just highlighting an action - you must provide content to explain what action the user is doing
- for downloads such as PDF, documents or spreadsheets
If you want to link to a third party website or form, you can use a default button.
How to add a start button
Start buttons are created using the toolbar in the WYSIWYG editor. Select the text you want to be a button, insert a link to where you want the button to go, then choose the start button option in the styles dropdown.
