Use a default button for the main call to action on a page, where you link to an external provider or website.
Avoid using multiple default buttons on a single page. Having more than one main call to action reduces their impact, and makes it harder for users to know what to do next.
Write button text in sentence case, describing the action it performs. For example:
You should try to limit the text to 5 sentences or between 30 to 35 characters.
If you’re linking to an external website or form and including an action, you must also mention where the user will be taken. For example:
You should use this component as the main call to action on a page to link to a third party:
You should not use this component when linking to an in-house form, for example built on:
If you are linking to an in-house form, you can use a start button.
Default buttons are created using the toolbar in the WYSIWYG editor. Select the text you want to be a button, insert a link to where you want the button to go, then choose the default button option in the styles dropdown.
