Apply for benefits you are entitled to
You can apply online for Council Tax Support, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other benefits.
Council Tax Support
You may be eligible to receive Council Tax Support if you are:
- on Universal Credit
- on Pension Credit, Guaranteed Credit or Savings Credit
- working and on low pay
- not working with a low income (such as pensions or social security benefits)
Housing Benefit
You may be eligible to receive Housing Benefit if:
- you and your partner are of State Pension age
- you live in council-allocated ‘temporary’ accommodation
- you live in private ‘supported’ accommodation (such as hostels, refuges, and property that includes care, support or supervision)
If none of these apply to you, you may be eligible to apply for Universal Credit.
Universal Credit
You may be eligible to receive Universal Credit if:
- you are on a low income
- out of work or cannot work
It is a monthly payment to help with your living costs.
Housing Payments (HP)
You may be able to receive additional payments to help with housing known as Housing Payments. You may be eligible if you already:
- receive Council Tax Support or Housing Benefit
- have housing costs included in your Universal Credit
