The Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area (SPA) avoidance strategy ensures that we take appropriate and necessary steps to:
- avoid harm to the SPA
- inform developers of their duty to mitigate the effects of their development on the SPAs
The strategy:
- will help meet the protected bird targets and increase biodiversity across Woking
- contains a large detailed map of Woking - which shows individual dwellings
In order to avoid harm to the SPA, planning applications for residential development are expected to financially contribute towards works to improve existing greenspaces Woking.
