This policy sets out our approach to identifying, responding to and preventing hate crime and hate incidents in the borough.
It explains how we assess reports, support victims and work with partners to take action against perpetrators and promote community safety.
The Hate Crime Policy includes:

- prevention, safeguarding and enforcement

- how cases are assessed and managed
- available support services and safeguarding measures
- how we work with police and other agencies
- legal powers, responsibilities and procedures
The policy will be reviewed in July 2027.
