Code of Conduct for Employees Policy
Formal guidelines for our employees to follow as part of their employment with us.
The code of conduct contains formal guidelines to employees covering matters such as the acceptance of gifts and hospitality, private work and the use of the Council’s time and materials.
The code gives advice to employees in these areas of activity and, in limited cases, to prescribe rules for future conduct. These rules must be followed unless the Head of Democratic and Legal Services has agreed, in writing, that exceptional circumstances justify otherwise.
The code takes into account ‘The Seven Principles of Public Life’ which are included in the Localism Act 2011.
- They are:
- selflessness
- integrity
- objectivity
- accountability
- openness
- honesty
- leadership
