Consultation and results to establish a parish council for the Pyrford Neighbourhood Area.

The stage 1 consultation lasted for 8 weeks and ran from:

  • Wednesday 1 October 2025 (start date)
  • Sunday 30 November 2025 (closing date)

The stage 2 consultation lasted for 7 weeks and ran from:

  • Tuesday 1 January 2026 (start date)
  • Saturday 28 February 2026 (closing date)

This consultation is closed and recommendations have been agreed.

About the consultation

In 2025, we received an application from Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum which proposed that a parish council be established. 

We are responsible for running this type of public consultation, if requested by a neighbourhood forum. 

Past consultation stages

The Pyrford Community Governance Review consultations were split into 2 consultations:

  • stage 1 took place over an 8-week period in October and November 2025
  • stage 2 took place over a 7-week period in January and February 2026

Stage 1 consultation

The consultation asked for views on whether a parish council should be created and its electoral arrangements, such as the number of councillors, wards and boundaries. 

Stage 1 results

On Thursday 11 December 2025, the key consultation recommendations were presented to and discussed at the Full Council meeting. Of the 446 responses received, 68% agreed that a parish council should be established.

Stage 2 consultation

The consultation asked for feedback on the key recommendations agreed by Full Council on Thursday 11 December 2025.

Stage 2 results

The consultation feedback received was presented to Full Council on 12 March 2026.

Full Council approved the following recommendations.

  1. A civil parish be established for the area of Pyrford with an external boundary.
  2. The civil parish is known as 'Pyrford'.
  3. A parish council is established to serve the civil parish of Pyrford.
  4. The parish council is known as a ‘Parish Council'.
  5. A total of 10 councillors to be elected to Pyrford Parish Council.
  6. Pyrford Parish Council is not divided into wards.
  7. The first election to Pyrford Parish Council to place on the first Thursday in May 2027, with elections held every 4 years.
