In 2025, we received an application from Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum which proposed that a parish council be established.
We are responsible for running this type of public consultation, if requested by a neighbourhood forum.
Past consultation stages
The Pyrford Community Governance Review consultations were split into 2 consultations:
- stage 1 took place over an 8-week period in October and November 2025
- stage 2 took place over a 7-week period in January and February 2026
Stage 1 consultation (closed)
The consultation asked for your views on whether a parish council should be created and its electoral arrangements, such as the number of councillors, wards and boundaries.
The 8-week consultation closed on 30 November 2026.
Stage 1 results
On Thursday 11 December 2025, the key consultation recommendations were presented to and discussed at the Full Council meeting. Of the 446 responses received, 68% agreed that a parish council should be established.

Stage 2 consultation (closed)
The consultation asked for feedback on the key recommendations agreed by Full Council on Thursday 11 December 2025.
Stage 2 results
The 7-week consultation closed on Saturday 28 February 2026.
All the consultation feedback received, was presented to Full Council on 12 March 2026.
Full Council approved the following recommendations.
- A civil parish be established for the area of Pyrford with an external boundary.
- The civil parish is known as 'Pyrford'.
- A parish council is established to serve the civil parish of Pyrford.
- The parish council is known as a ‘Parish Council'.
- A total of 10 councillors to be elected to Pyrford Parish Council.
- Pyrford Parish Council is not divided into wards.
- The first election to Pyrford Parish Council to place on the first Thursday in May 2027, with elections held every 4 years.
