Home adaptations to stay independent (Homelink)

Homelink is our home adaptation service that can help you stay independent.

Dementia-friendly handyperson service

Most people with dementia wish to remain in their homes for as long as possible. As their condition progresses, they may find undertaking everyday tasks more difficult.

By adding equipment and making adaptations to their home, our handyperson service can help someone with dementia to live independently for longer. The service of free of charge.

The work is done by a handyperson who has received specialist dementia training from the Alzheimer's Society- Dementia Friends.

The handyperson can install items such as:

  • blue contrast grab rails
  • blue contrast toilet seats and lids
  • internal door signs, such as indicating bathroom, toilet or bedroom
  • blue contrast mirrors

For a small extra charge, the handyperson can also paint a contrasting colour around an internal door frame.
