Ukrainian refugees

We work with partners and government on resettlement and integration for refugees from Ukraine.

Claiming benefits as a Ukrainian refugee

The UK welfare system is designed to help those who face financial hardship, or who have specific needs. You can receive payments to help with your living costs.

The benefits or allowances include:

  • Universal Credit: A payment for those of working age if you're on a low income. Find out more about Universal Credit.
  • Pension credit: Extra money if you are over the age of 66 and on a low income.
  • Disability benefits: Extra money if you have a long term physical or mental health condition or disability.
  • Child benefit: A universal benefit for parents or guardians bringing up a child under 16 (or 20 if they stay in approved education or training).
