Proxy vote for one election

You and the person you have chosen to vote on your behalf must both be on the electoral register and have registered to vote.

Visit the GOV.UK website and apply for a proxy vote for one election using the link below:

You can also apply using a printable form. Visit the Electoral Commission website and download the Application to vote by proxy in England at a particular election.

Once you have completed and signed the application form, scan it and email it to us at elections@woking.gov.uk. You can also post it to us at:

What you need to apply

You will be asked to:

  • provide your details
  • provide the details of your proxy
  • provide the date of the election you want your proxy to vote for you in
  • explain why you are not able to go to the polling station
  • upload an image of your signature (or sign the printable form)
  • provide your National Insurance number

Visit the GOV.UK website to find your National Insurance number. If you do not have a National Insurance number, or it cannot be verified, you will need to provide supporting documentation.
