Service update: From Thursday 21 March 2024, we no longer provide access to the Local Land Charges register. This now held by HM Land Registry.
Requests for a Certificate of Search (LLC1) and Personal Searches will need to be made using their national register. You can access the new digital service on HM Land Registry’s Portal.
We will continue to provide replies to Con29 enquiries. After Friday 8 March, please submit the required fee only when submitting a CON29 enquiry to us. Visit GOV.UK for more information.
We do not accept search requests by post.
Fees from 1 April 2024
The standard search fee for CON29 enquiries relating to one parcel (a dwelling or piece of land) is CON29 Part 1 = £294.60 including VAT
In addition:
- CON29 additional parcel = £96 including VAT (per parcel)
- CON29 part 2 (printed question) = £25.50 including VAT (per question)
- CON29 part 3 (own question) = £36 including VAT (per question
Exception
We do not request a charge for question 8 (within the form) as this information cannot be provided by us. It can be obtained from the National Grid Plant Protection.

How to pay
Once you have completed the online form, you will need to pay for the search by credit or debit card.
If you unable to pay with card, you can apply for a search by registering with one of the licensed National Land Information Service (NLIS) channels. Registration is straightforward and offers customers different payment options, such as direct debit, bank card, invoice, and BACs. Please note: we do no accept cheques.
