Pay a penalty charge notice (PCN)
Depending on where your PCN was issued, there are 2 different ways to pay.
Pay a PCN starting with 'RR'
These PCNs are issued by Surrey County Council for on-street parking offences.
Pay or challenge a PCN – Surrey County Council
Pay a PCN starting with 'WO' or 'YK'
These PCNs are issued by us for car park parking offences.
When paying your PCN, please be aware that:
- It can take up to 24 hours for new PCNs to be logged on our payment system. If you cannot find your PCN online, please check the date and time of issue. If it is less than 24 hours, please try again after this time period.
- Quote your PCN payment reference. The code 'WO' are letters of the alphabet, not a letter and the number zero (0).
How to find your PCN reference
The reference is printed on the:
- detachable section of the notice and the top of the PCN
- second page of the 'notice to owner'
- first page of the 'charge certificate'
PCN charges
PCN charges are either £50 or £70.
If we receive your payment within 14 days of the notice being issued, you will be entitled to a 50% discount of £25 or £35.
After 14 days, you are liable to pay the full charge.

You must wait 24 hours from the date printed on the notice before trying to pay. This is to allow time to upload your PCN onto our payment system.

You can also post a cheque or postal order to:

Make it payable to 'Woking Borough Council' and write the PCN payment reference on the back of the cheque or postal order.
