Woking Leisure Centre completes first phase of £1.2 million refurbishment
The first phase of a £1.2 million refurbishment of Woking Leisure Centre has been completed.
Managed by Everyone Active on behalf of Woking Borough Council, the centre is benefitting from a wide range of improvements, designed to meet the needs of the local community.
This initial stage has transformed all group exercise studios and the gym, delivering a modern, enhanced experience for members.
The fully refurbished gym is now open and features state-of-the-art Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, alongside a new look and feel to create a fresh and modernised space.
New equipment includes additional squat racks and benches to meet rising demand, with new treadmills, Watt bikes, and functional fitness equipment added to the functional and cardio areas, to support the growing Hyrox training trend.
A brand-new fascial stimulator has been introduced, designed to deeply massage and stimulate the body's connective tissue to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, increase flexibility, and speed up recovery.
The group exercise studios have also been fully refurbished, providing an enhanced class experience.
A new group cycling studio, with brand-new Keiser bikes, and upgraded lighting and music system opened in March, offering regular spin classes, alongside virtual studio cycling.
The second stage of refurbishment is now underway, with plans to be unveiled soon.
The staged refurbishment, which is funded by both Everyone Active and Woking Borough Council, has been designed to minimise disruption and keep the centre open and running as normal. Customers are still advised to book classes via the Everyone Active App.
