Team GB athlete and TV personality Harry Aikines-Aryeetey to star at free family community day

The Commonwealth gold medallist will join local residents at Woking Leisure Centre on Sunday 14 June to celebrate the centre’s recent transformation. 

Running from 10am to 4pm, the community day will feature a huge array of free activities with something from everyone.

Harry will be at the event from 10am to 2pm, meeting visitors, testing out the new gym equipment and taking part in fitness challenges.

Visitors can enjoy free access to the gym and exercise classes, including Everyone Active Series sessions, alongside complimentary personal training and the opportunity to try the brand-new Reformer studio.

There will also be taster sessions for a range of activities including swimming, Air X and its new Laser Tag offering, alongside children’s entertainment such as face painting.

The centre’s £1.2 million upgrade includes a fully refurbished, state-of-the-art gym featuring the latest Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, alongside additional squat racks and benches, new treadmills, Wattbikes and functional fitness equipment, plus a new fascial stimulator to aid recovery.

The group exercise studios have also been fully refurbished, including a new group cycling studio with brand-new Keiser bikes, upgraded lighting and a new sound system, offering both instructor-led and virtual spin classes.
