Date:

Monday, 3 July, 2023

This summer, music-lovers will once again be treated to a melody of free open-air concerts at Woking Park’s Bandstand that you won’t want to miss.

Featuring a wide selection of music from brass bands to ukuleles, the Summer Sounds programme will showcase songs from through the decades for all to enjoy.

Musical performances will take place on selected Saturdays throughout July and August at 2pm, lasting approximately two hours at Woking Bandstand. So, why not escape the hustle and bustle of the town, bring a picnic and soak up some fantastic music all for free?

Summer Sounds performance schedule:

Woking Park is accessible for people with limited mobility and families with young children. A limited number of deckchair seating is available, it is recommended to bring your own parasols, picnic blankets and plenty of water.

Cllr Ellen Nicholson, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “There’s no place better to spend those lazy summer afternoons than in a charming surrounding, enjoying great music.

“Music can lift your spirits, improve your mental health and bring communities together, reducing feelings of loneliness. So, whether you’re enjoying the vibrant culture of the live performances or simply appreciating the atmosphere, come and get a boost of serotonin and support these talented local music groups.

“I’m looking forward to seeing you all there.”

Summer Sounds would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the generous sponsors: The Marches, Harvey Water Softeners, Gordon Ramsay Street Burger and Gordon Ramsay Academy. Find out more about our partners online: www.celebratewoking.info/sponsors
