Pet Policy

How we approach pet ownership in council‑owned homes and managed homes.

The policy recognises the wellbeing benefits of pets while establishing clear rules to prevent nuisance, protect property, and ensure the safety and comfort of all residents.

It covers: 

  • pets that are permitted
  • the standards we expect of pet owners
  • how we manage nuisance or breaches
  • how we comply with relevant
  • legislation and equality duties we follow when making decisions about pets
