Saturation Zone consultation

We are legally required to review the Saturation Zone every 3 years. This consultation asks for your views on whether to keep the zone in parts of Woking town centre. 

About Saturation Zones

A Saturation Zone, also called a Cumulative Impact Assessment, helps us decide applications for alcohol licences in an area with many licensed premises. We use it where there is evidence that these premises may be linked to crime, disorder or public nuisance.

Licensed premises are places that sell alcohol, provide late night refreshment between 11pm and 5am, or put on entertainment such as music, sport or performances.

When we make licensing decisions, we must consider 4 objectives:

  • prevention of crime and disorder
  • public safety
  • prevention of public nuisance
  • protection of children from harm

The existing zone covers:

  • Victoria Way
  • Chertsey Road
  • Stanley Road
  • The Broadway
  • High Street
  • Goldsworth Road (including the supermarket site)
  • Church Street West
