Both the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have extended the red alerts for Surrey and the south east until 11pm on Friday 26 June.

This consultation closed at 11:59pm on Sunday 26 April 2026. Our next steps are to review the feedback and report back on the results.
We asked for views on antisocial behaviour in Woking town centre.
The feedback will help us decide whether a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) could improve safety and protect the community.
What PSPOs do
A PSPO would let us restrict or ban specific behaviour in public places.
It is used when behaviour is causing ongoing nuisance, harm or a negative impact on people’s quality of life.
Why we ran the consultation
Surrey Police and local partners have reported continued antisocial behaviour in the town centre. This includes:
- alcohol‑related intimidation
- threatening or disruptive group behaviour
- using face coverings to cause fear or hide identity
Because of this, Surrey Police has asked us to consider adopting a new PSPO. This would form part of wider work to make the town centre a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
