Extreme heat and health alerts
Both the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have extended the red alerts for Surrey and the south east until 11pm on Friday 26 June.
You need to be registered to vote before you can vote in UK elections or referendums.
You are responsible for registering to vote. You cannot register a family member, even if they live in the same property.
To vote in the May 2026 elections, you must register before by 11.59pm on Monday 20 April 2026.
Registering to vote using the GOV.UK website takes around 5 minutes.
You will be asked for your National Insurance number (but you can still register if you do not have one).
If you're a British citizen living abroad, you will need your passport.

If you have moved home or changed your name, you must register to vote – GOV.UK again.
If there are no changes to your personal circumstances, you do not need to register to vote before every election.

When you register to vote, your name and address will appear on the Woking borough full electoral register.
