Both the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have extended the red alerts for Surrey and the south east until 11pm on Friday 26 June.
Pubs and live music venue relief
In January 2026, the government announced a new business rates relief scheme to support eligible pubs and live music venues for the 2026 to 2027 financial year.
You can apply for relief if your property is:
- occupied
- fully or mainly used as either a pub or live music venue

What you will get
The scheme provides a 15% relief for eligible pubs and live music venues in 2026 to 2027. This will be applied on top of any other reliefs you already receive. Bills will then be frozen for the next 2 years.

We will consider your application using the pubs and live music venues relief scheme guidance.
If your application is unsuccessful, we will write to you to explain why within 14 days of our decision.
