You cannot apply for a refund if your account is in credit, but you owe unpaid business rates.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are paid directly to your bank account. 

You need to give us your bank or building society:

  • account number
  • sort code
  • account holder's name

We do not issue refunds by cheque.

Rating agents

If you're a rating agent working for a business, you will need to give us a letter of authority from the business rates payer.
