CCTV in Woking

CCTV plays an important role in helping to reduce the fear of crime.

CCTV (closed circuit television) cameras help prevent, detect and deter crime. They can be used to generate evidence for civil and criminal court proceedings. Knowing that CCTV is in place also encourages the use of our town centre facilities.

The network of CCTV surveillance cameras in Woking was set up to support the work of the Safer Woking Partnership. The system is staffed and operated by Surrey Police. We support it by providing a fully comprehensive maintenance contract.

We currently have CCTV cameras in these locations:

  • Woking town centre: 66 cameras
  • Woking Borough Council car parks: 598 cameras
  • West Byfleet village: 19 cameras
