Report a change of circumstances: council housing
Tell us about any changes to your household, including people moving in and out, changes to names.
You must keep our housing team informed of any changes to your circumstances.
You can contact us online about any changes.
Changes you can inform us about include:
- someone leaving the household
- someone joining the household (such as the birth of a child, a foster child joins the family, or a partner, adult child or person you’re caring for moves in)
- your name has changed (for example, because you have married or divorced)
- the tenancy was in 2 names (joint) and now needs to be in 1 name (sole) (for example, because the other person has moved out or died)
- the tenancy was in 1 name (sole) and now needs to be in 2 names (joint) (for example, because you have married or begun sharing your household with another person)
If your reported changes affect your current housing band, we will send a letter by post informing you of:
- your new band
- the reason for the change in band
- your priority band date
- your right to request a review of the decision
